Miranda Carter

This series of paintings are all 40 x 50 cm on board. The surface allowed me to work thicker with more texture and expressive brushwork. I poured, scratched and layered the paint, using inks and pastels, to encourage controlled ‘accidental’ marks and gestures. The feel is stormy and captures both the atmosphere of weather and light, plus the sheer enjoyment I had for my materials.
